I am sure you will love it!

My Not So Secret Recipe – Frozen Fried Rice Kimbap

Kimbap is a Korean street food that is often made with rice, seaweed, and fillings like tuna, squid, eggs, and vegetables. It’s a dish that is very near and dear to my heart because it was something my best friend used to make for me when I was in high school.

The kimbap she would make was always so fresh and tasty, and I loved it! So, when I saw this recipe for fried rice kimbap, I just had to try it.

And let me tell you, it is just as good as the kimbap my friend used to make! The rice is perfectly cooked, and the fillings are so flavorful. Plus, it’s a dish that is really easy to make ahead of time and stored in the fridge for those busy weeknights.

How To Make Frozen Fried Rice Kimbap?

First Pick Your Fried Rice From The Frozen Aisle

The meat should be cut into small enough pieces to allow you to make rolls out of them. For this reason, frozen fried rice containing no large chunks of meat is preferable.

Then, Heat The Rice!

You are so close to enjoying delicious instant fried rice! Just heat it, and you’re good to go.

Now, It’s Time To Prepare Your Fillings!

You may, or you may not include all of these fillings, but here are some of my favorites:

  • Scrambled eggs
  • Braised burdock
  • Imitation crab
  • Sautéed carrots
  • Pickled daikon
  • Sautéed spinach

Even if you don’t add all of these fillings, your kimbap will still be delicious!

Now, It’s Time To Roll Your Kimbap!

First, take a seaweed sheet and place it on a bamboo mat.

Next, add a scoop of fried rice to the seaweed and spread it out evenly.

Then, add your fillings to the rice.

Finally, roll up your kimbap tightly, using the bamboo mat to help you.

Repeat this process until all of your kimbap are rolled.

If you, too, are a terrible kimbap roller like I am, then don’t worry! There is an easier way to roll a kimbap.

It’s called the tornado roll, and it’s so easy!

To make it, join two sheets of seaweed paper with a few drops of water. Warm fried rice should be placed in the center of the seaweed and pressed down with damp fingers. Then add your toppings after that. Then, with a bit of faith and confidence, roll up the kimbap as though rolling a cigar to produce a wonderfully swirled kimbap that’s twice as delicious!

And that’s it! Your kimbap is now ready to be enjoyed! But make sure you cut them into bite-sized pieces before serving, as they can be a bit tricky to eat otherwise.
